Sheffield Women’s Leadership Circle runs on care, creativity and behind‑the‑scenes effort.
Volunteering with the Circle is a way to shape a space you believe in, try out new skills, and support women’s leadership in Sheffield without having to be “the one at the front of the room”.
What volunteers do
We’re looking for a small team of volunteers who can help with things like:
- Welcoming people as they arrive at sessions
- Practical set‑up and close‑down (chairs, tea and coffee, sign‑in sheet)
- Occasional note‑taking or time‑keeping during discussions
- Helping with social media posts or simple Canva graphics between sessions
- Reaching out to local organisations to spread the word about the Circle
You don’t need to do all of these – we’ll match roles to what you’re interested in and comfortable with.
What you’ll get out of it
Volunteering with the Circle is also a leadership development opportunity:
- Gentle, real‑world practice in hosting, facilitation‑support and organising
- Experience you can talk about in applications, appraisals and interviews
- The chance to co‑create a space that supports women’s wellbeing and leadership locally
We’re interested in your whole self – your skills, your lived experience and your ideas.
Time and flexibility
Most of our volunteering happens:
- At our monthly sessions on weekday evenings in Sheffield
- With occasional small tasks between sessions that you can fit around your life
We’ll always be clear about the time commitment and you’re free to step back if your circumstances change.
How to put your hand up
If you’re interested in volunteering with the Circle, please:
- Fill in the short form below, or
- Email hello@sheffieldwomensleadershipcircle.com with the subject line “Volunteering – [Your Name]” and tell us what you’re curious about helping with
You don’t need a perfect CV or loads of spare time – just a genuine interest in women’s leadership and a willingness to help behind the scenes.
